According to the Producer Price Index data, the non-seasonally adjusted index increased 0.49% between January and February after increasing 1.27% between December and January. Read on for detailed information for construction material prices.

Softwood Lumber


In February, the seasonally adjusted PPI for softwood lumber dropped by 2.98%, marking the seventh consecutive month of decline. Comparing February 2024 to 2023, softwood lumber prices were down by 10.35%.

Gypsum Building Materials


After ten consecutive months of decline, the non-seasonally adjusted PPI for gypsum building materials experienced a significant increase of 2.95% in February. However, the index was 0.18% lower compared to one year ago.

Ready-Mix Concrete


In February, the seasonally adjusted PPI for ready-mix concrete showed a modest increase of 0.25%, following a larger rise of 1.76% in January. Comparing February to the previous year, prices for ready-mix concrete were 7.42% higher.

Steel Mill Products


For the third consecutive month, the non-seasonally adjusted PPI for steel mill products increased by 2.86% in February. Steel mill product prices have risen by 5.00% compared to last year.
