A Tour of Z Modular’s Manufacturing Facility!
It’s an exciting time for the construction industry! Borrowing the offsite manufacturing model from the automobile sector, today’s AEC industry is poised for unparalleled growth. To further propel this phenomenon, we at Modz4 are partnering with leading modular unit manufacturers to simplify and coordinate the design/build process for owners and developers.
Modz4 CEO Dr. Garry Vermaas and I recently toured the factory of our newest partner, Z Modular, in Birmingham, Alabama. One of the largest manufacturers in the prefab market, Z Modular provides fully completed steel modular units for mid- to high-rise commercial and residential projects.
The expansive 125,000 square-foot facility uses 100% American, high-quality steel, manufactured by its parent company Zekelman Industries. Together, they affirm the promising future of the steel modular industry.
Z modular stands out from others– thanks to its patented modular connector technology, called VectorBloc, that provides sturdy structural strength and a high level of design flexibility.
Seeing the modular production firsthand, we were impressed with their approach to getting things done. Together, we will address the growing challenges emerging from the global AEC industry, especially targeting the current labor shortage crisis and subsequent delayed timelines.
